Sam's Baptism

Sam was baptized on May 6, 2012.  It was such a sweet time for our family and we were so honored to have so many people that have influenced Sam's life there with us.   

Sam asked Jesus into his heart during chapel last year during kindergarten.  He had been asking so many questions about becoming a Christian and committed his life to Jesus last year.  He has been asking to get baptized for awhile, but we wanted to make sure that he understood the seriousness of what he was doing.  Our church offered a baptism class for children and so we signed up!  It was such a great class, and really helped Sam understand the meaning of baptism.  We then had a family baptism service, where 47 children were baptized!  It was such a sweet time of celebrating these precious children.

David spoke over Sam before he baptized him.  It was one of those moments when the rest of the world disappears and you only see what is going on right in front of you.  

David told Sam that he is now our brother in Christ and that David looks forward to doing battle together with Sam.  He told Sam that he will be a warrior for Christ and that David and I look forward to what the Lord has for Sam's life.  

A new creation!!  Praise the Lord!!

The smile on Sam's face after coming out of the water is so priceless!  We will never forget having Mimi, Grandpa, Grammy, Diddy, Bryan, Amy, Caleb, Sarah, Nanny, Paw-paw, Mrs. Mahan, Mrs. Brazell, Josh, Debs, Andrew, Karen, Carrie, Seth, Jennifer, Austin M, Katie, Jamie, Bryant, Austin B, Mary Kate with us!

I will also never forget our pastor, Jeff, standing next to me while Sam was baptized, putting his arm around me and saying that Sam will truly be a warrior.

We are so grateful for Sam's life and for the decision that he has made to follow Jesus!
